DMPC 9007 – Transference and Counter-Transference Theory

                This course provides an in-depth study of the concepts of transference and counter-transference resistance with readings from the current and historical literature.  Patient and class process will be used to illustrate concepts of transference and counter-transference and resistances.  The emphasis will be on current formulations and controversies including the utility of modern psychoanalytic contributions such as the narcissistic transference and counter-transference, counter-transference resistance, and use of induced feelings.
